Finally . . . Crater Lake!

These pictures are from June 7th.

This was our first view of Crater Lake from the North side. The island is Wizard Island. It was formed by later eruptions. The lake is in a volcano which erupted and collapsed into itself 7,700 years ago. Crater Lake is five miles wide.



You can see the cone on Wizard Island. And . . . note the snow form this view from the North. You won't see the snow from the next view.
