This is one of the streams along the highway -- might be gold in there! Once place we passed there were lots of cars parked along the road and people were panning for gold.

Do you see how narrow this highway is? Not a lot of room for error. The white line is at the very edge of the blacktop and sometimes it isn't even on the blacktop!
Every town we went through, we had to watch really carefully for the route signs as it wasn't real well-marked and it wasn't always the way we thought we should be going.
And then there were always these 90 degree left turn signs at fifteen miles an hour (and usually at the bottom of a hill!).
