This is the tire supply for the trucks at the mine -- each tire costs around $23,000 dollars! Each tire lasts about 4 - 6 months.
This are some of the chain links on the scoop bucket -- each link weighs 350 pounds! You will see in the next picture that one of them broke and they had to do a replacement.
When we were there, they had to bring the scoop out of the mine because one of the links broke. The dragline rigging that you see is as long as a football field. The base or pedestal that the machine sits on is as large as the infield of a baseball diamond.
