The next area on our tour of the Redmond Air Center was the Fire Support Cache. Basically, it is a warehouse that maintains the tools and equipment used by the firefighters (3600) for all of the forests in Oregon and Washington.
This map shows were the Fire Caches are located. There is one in Prescott for Arizona.
Our tour guide,Vicky, is showing Dave one of the rakes.
They also have over 400 pumps which are rotated out on calls and there is a full time pump repair shop located at the Redmond Fire Cache.
See the two chain saws? They won't be going out again!
