On our return to our campground from the Fruit Loop, we took the drive up to Mt. Hood even though we knew that we couldn't see it. We had driven up to the Timberline Lodge in 1974 on a trip to Portland.

While driving the Fruit Loop, we crossed the Hood River several times as it winds its way down from Mt. Hood to the Columbia River. There's at least one kayaker way back on the river in this picture.

Still snow on the side of the road and it got much colder as we went up.
When we got out of the car, the outdoor temperature said it was 36 degrees . . . brrrrr! We think this was an addition to the Lodge since we had last been there as it seemed to be set up just for the skiers. We didn't take time to look around as Dave just wanted to get out of there and was concerned about "black ice" on the way down.
