U.S.F.S. Redmond Air Center - Part 2

This is the get-ready room where each para-firefighter has all of his gear in place and where they get suited up when the alarm goes off.

Josh is showing us his fire-retardant shirt.

Here, Josh shows us that he has ankle braces that go on first, then his leggings and his coat which has a big round collar to protect their neck.  They can just back into their gear (parachute included) and get it all zipped and strapped on quickly because everything is hanging just so.

Josh is letting me compare the weight of his lighter helmet to an older-style model which is a motorcycle helmet.

This is the sewing room where they repair their parachutes and make their own shirts and outer gear.
