Leaving Arizona

Driving over the bridge and looking down at Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell backed up behind it.  Seventeen workers perished during the ten-year construction period.

Lake Powell is the 2nd largest man-made lake in the U.S.  It took 17 years, from 1963 to 1980 to fill Lake Powell to its planned depth.  The power from Glen Canyon Dam serves 5 states -- Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico and Arizona.

And . . . on to Utah!

Wait!  What is that in our rearview mirror on a fine day in the middle of May?

Well, yes, it was a snowplow!  Going where?
