Lake Easton State Park, Washington

Well, I had to look at the Blog first to remember where I had left off! We haven't had good cell service for the Alltel Wireless Card for two nights because we were in the mountains! We wanted to stay at Lake Easton State Park just off I-90 and just east of Snoqualmie Pass, but it didn't open until the 15th (Friday)! All of our information indicated that it would be open, so we surprised, but we found out that it was due to the typical "budget cuts" of the state parks funding. Instead, right next to it was this Lake Easton "Resort" -- NOT! It is one of those that people buy in to (like condos) and then can stay for $2.00 - $5.00 a night, but most of them we've seen are not up to what we desire. Anyhow, since we had no choice, we stayed there one night for $17.50 on Thursday, but on Friday, it would be $35.00 (no thank you!), so we went over to the state park!

The "Resort" doesn't look that bad from the picture -- there were maybe three other people there.

After we went for our "little ride" that night, Dave had to lift up the security gate to get us back in -- it wasn't even 10:00 yet!

The next morning, we went over to Lake Easton State Park, and the gal that checked us in told us to just move the barricades if they were still up because we were the first ones to check in and they only had six sites left for Friday night. So -- Dave is getting a lot of practice in removing barriers!

This is the view from the beach at Lake Easton State Park. I just love how the snow-capped mountain reflects in the lake.
