Listening to weather reports and deciding we would stay on I-75 and be more inland rather than taking the coastal route since there is a storm coming in from the Gulf with rain and wind.
We saw the Oscar Meyer Wienermobile in a parking lot on the way.
We had gotten wise to camping in the Florida State Parks by now (finally!). We find that since they are always full, they just seem to tell you that at the window when you drive in. Since we were needing a spot for 2 nights, we finally learned how to "game the system" by getting on the internet right before we get to the park and finding out which spots may not be booked for that night. They use the reservation website, but I figured out how to see if there are any that show as "walkup." This park is Paynes Prairie State Park. When we drove up, the person at the window told us they were full. I had found that they had a spot open for 2 nights, which was what we needed. We told her the site number and Dave went in and we got it.
Many of the sites would be nicer if they would trim the trees, but it seems like at many of the State Parks, they think that it should be returned to the way it looked when the Pilgrims landed -- allow everything to grow!
Good thing we didn't want to swim!
The ducks enjoyed the rain.
