No matter what . . . always be back on the ship before the time it is set to sail! If you miss it, it is your responsibility to get to the next port at your own expense.
We knew that we were not leaving St. Thomas because they still had the gangway down even though the security tent had been taken down. As this couple came running back to the ship, people on the balconies started cheering. They had started calling names and staterooms for people to report in.
Then this other couple came back . . . and not in good condition!
The guy was digging in the gal's bag and two of the ships security officers came out. We saw a passport being checked.
The gal got on and the guy didn't. She blew him a kiss goodbye.
We thought she was going to need assistance making her way to the gangway.
And while all this was going on, this semi came on the ship's side of the security fence probably because the ship was supposed to be gone and his job was to pick up the trash bin. So he did!
It is a good thing that the Captain knows how to pull over and back up!
That is the Carnival Conquest that was tied up behind the Celebrity Eclipse. The Eclipse left port before we did.
When we got about here, our captain blew our fancy "horn" and played a few bars of "The Love Boat Theme" and they cheered! I had heard him do that when we left Fort Lauderdale, but I didn't catch just what it was.
The Carnival and Princess ships are both owned by Carnival Corporation.
