OK . . . so the route we had planned to take was I-40 from Winslow to Gallup to Albuquerque. But when we turned back to Winslow we took Highway 87 north. But then, we found another "little road" that perhaps would work -- Highway 15. And besides . . . we'd never been to Dilkon -- have you?
Just lots of beautiful rock formations, blue skies, and white clouds through the Navajo Reservation.
We had a conflict with our maps, so Dave went in to Basha's to ask if a portion of the road showing on his map as gravel really was gravel. After talking to three people, the verdict was that it was paved.
This is coming into Indian Wells and we enjoyed the variety of colors in the rock formations.
