As we crossed the bridge across the Columbia River from Washington into Oregon at Astoria, the Carnival Splendor was in port. It is one of Carnival's newest ships and holds 3008 people. I don't know why she was there, because it looks like she will be doing a Mexican Riveria itinerary towards the end of this month.

We walked out on this jetty where you can see the mouth of the Columbia from one direction and the Pacific Ocean from the other.
