We remembered having a Halibut Sandwich here when we came through Port Angeles three years ago, so we stopped by again. It's is just a roadside diner-style place. There is no parking, and two drive-through lanes only, one on each side. They cook right up front behind the Coca Cola sign. It is a very small place and a very limited menu -- mostly burgers -- but also a delicious halibut sandwich. They do catch halibut in the area. The place is called Frugals, and there are only three of them, we think, all in Washington. We got our lunch here two days in a row!
Then, we went a parked on the spit to watch the ships come in through the Strait. The little lady at the Sequim Visitors Center told us that the Port of Port Angeles is a "parking" place for the tankers and container ships waiting to get into port at Seattle as it has a deep harbor.
The roadside rock piles -- I have to look up their meaning again on the Internet, but you see them quite often.
