We arrived in Wahpeton, North Dakota this afternoon.
We were planning on checking out Chahinkapa Park which also has a Zoo, a Gold Course with 9 holes in North Dakota and nine holes in Minnesota, and found this wonderful surprise . . . a fully restored 1926 Carousel . . . in a building!

Dave's horse's name was "Rich." He found that out after he chose it!
My horse's name was "Santana."
It even had the band.
This horse had individual dots simulating beads on the bridle.
This is the lead horse on this carousel. His name is "KC" because the Knights of Columbus sponsored him.
This horse's name is "Noel" because the sponsor honored his parents and his wife's parents with a donation as a Christmas gift.

The whole building is magically decorated at Christmas.
A brief history on the Prairie Rose Carousel shows that it was in storage for 24 years. It is amazing that everything was still there. The last man to own it was ready to start parting out the horses before it was found right in Minnesota.
