While downtown in Denver on the 16th Street Mall, we decided to take a tour of the Capitol since neither one of us had ever been in it.

We knew ahead of time that one of the "tourist spots" was the 13th step on the west side -- the "One Mile Above Sea Level" marker. Actually, they have changed that location several times as you can see from the other markers. The latest one is supposedly the correct one as it is from GPS!
We had time to climb the 99 steps to the dome before our tour -- so we did!
Yes . . . we were way up there!
