Pay attention to a sign that says "Detour!"
As we left our campground at Rock Creek Station State Historical Park (a station stop on the Pony Express Route), we were out in the toolies and trying to get back on the highway going into Fairbury, Nebraska on our way to McCook last Friday. We drove right by a "Detour" sign and were confronted with a very long train which was apparently loading corn from a granary into the railroad cars, one car at a time, very s-l-o-w-l-y! We were lucky to have a Co-Op that we could swing into and turn around to go back to where we should have gone in the first place (but it was a very muddy road!)!

This is Dave filling gas in McCook. It is at a farm supply store, and you have to unhook the tow vehicle, then swing very wide because there is merchandise for sale very close on the right and up in front of the motorhome, and then the parking lot is around to the left between the gas pumps and the building. Not easy to do! But . . . it is the best price in town and the other places are about equally as challenging -- not easy to find convenient places to gas in many towns!
